I've searched the newgroups, and have found others who had this problem, but
their solutions don't seem
to work for my case:
I installed the forms authentication sample and it works fine on my local
machine. I then installed it
on my production server, and http://machinename/reportserver works fine, but
the ReportManager
http://machinename/reports does not work. I seem to be able to register
users but can't login. Why would
logon.aspx work and not uilogon.aspx? I followed the directions for
setting up the config files to the letter, and am using the machine name
rather than localhost to connect.
Any suggestions?

Thomson Delmar LearningI don't think the example indicates that you must change the web.config to
Forms authentication... That is also where the logon form is named..

directions, but the
ReportManager web.config is not (i've read that it doesn't need to be).
I don't really understand how ReportManager and ReportServer interact. Can
anyone explain it?Any other ideas out there? Why do we need to seperate
login boxes anway?

Forms Authentication Problem
Hello,
I try (since days) to the sample for forms authentication running.
I realy checked everything more then twice and searched all posts I can find
in the whole web (many, many people have exact the same problem).
The following error I receive on the http://localhost/reports
Object reference not set to an instance of an object.
[NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an
object.]
Microsoft.ReportingServices.UI.GlobalApp.Application_AuthenticateRequest(Object sender, EventArgs e) +44
System.Web.SyncEventExecutionStep.System.Web.HttpApplication.IExecutionStep.Execute() +92
System.Web.HttpApplication.ExecuteStep(IExecutionStep step, Boolean&
completedSynchronously) +64
I can not get the code running in debug mode on the reportmanager call. It
works meanwhile for the reportserver (but not reportmanager). As mentoined
above I check configuration files many times, started from scratch, following
absolut exactly the instruction.
The web is overfload with people facing this problem and blaming the MSDN
Article. It is impossible, that it is not soved from somebody. Please, please
help.

The article about the sample application is not complete and will not work
without the settings described in the article I found.

formatt telephone number
I have searched this forum and the web and am not finding the answer.
I have a local report using the Microsoft Report Viewer add in for VS 2005 Express. I am trying to format a text field in a report that is a telephone number.
Instead of 8008898890 I want (800) 889-8890
Any suggestions? I have tried all of the format options such as {0:(###) ###-####}
None of them are working.
Joe
For anyone who is wondering here is the answer:
=Format(CDbl(Fields!yourfield.value), "(###) ###-####")
