Forms Authentication Requirements

Do you need to be running the Enterprise edition of SQL in order to use
forms authentication or can it work with the standard edition?Custom security extensions (forms based authentication is a custom security
extension) are supported in the Enterprise/Developer/Evaluation edition of
Reporting Services. It is not supported in the Standard edition. Check out

Forms Authentication in RS 2005

Hello,
Does forms authentication in RS 2005 require Enterprise edition like RS 2000
or will the Standard edition work now?
I heard that RS 2000 SP2 would allow forms auth with the Standard edition,
but still get this message when trying to use it. "This operation is not
supported in this edition of Reporting Services (rsOperationNotSupported)"
Thanks in advance for any info you can provide.Custom security will be available with RS 2005 Standard.

Forms authentication & SQL RS 2000 - which versions supported?

Hi,
I was told recently that the SP2 release for SQL RS 2000 made custom (i.e.
Forms) authentication available in the SQL Server 2K Standard edition -
where it had only been available in Enterprise prior to SP2.
Can anyone confirm if this is correct?

will be available with RS 2005 Standard.

Forms Authentication - Error about 'text/html; charset=utf-8'

I saw post on the same issue but it is not answered.
I use win2k server and reporting service standard edition. The register
function works fine. But When I try to log on to http://servername/reports, I
get the following error:
Client found response content type of 'text/html; charset=utf-8', but
expected 'text/xml'. The request failed with the error message: --
Reporting Services Erro

Is this because of the Standard edition of reporting service?
Any help will be appreciated.
MichaelStandard edition doesn't support custom security extensions (which is what
the forms auth extension is).

By default, Reporting Services uses a Windows-based authentication
extension, which uses Windows account protocols to verify the identities of
users who claim to have accounts on the system. Reporting Services uses a
role-based security system to authorize users. The Reporting Services
role-based security model is similar to the role-based security models of
other technologies.
Because security extensions are based on an open and extensible API, you
can create new authentication and authorization extensions in Reporting
Services. However, Security extension API is not supported in Reporting
Services Standard Edition.
